Recover Data From Synology Network Attached Storage

SYNOLOGY DISKSTATION 412+

I have been using a Synology DiskStation 412+ for about a month. Recently, I noticed that the DiskStation was exhibiting some strange behaviour. Firstly, it would suddenly shut down, regardless of what I was doing. It was often during data transfer, or copying, but not always. The system would give no warnings, just one moment it would be working, and the next the light would be out. When it had shut down, it would start up again, and there would be a record of what occurred just saying “Improper shut down”. Once booted up, the DiskStation would then begin running checks on the entire system, so-called consistency checks. After one of these checks, it started churning away to itself, and next time I turned it on, I found that some of my important data is missing.

SYNOLOGY DISKSTATION 412+

I am having a little bit of trouble with a Synology DiskStation 412+. It worked fine until I tried to upload the newest version of DSM. The system partition always seemed to disappear without warning after this. Shortly after the update, the DiskStation suddenly decided to reboot. When it started up again, there was a blue LED light which is blinking on at the front. I thought that this was not a problem, but soon realised that the DiskStation was not starting up at all. I have tried to reboot it several times. I have even left the blue light going all night, in case it was just taking so long for the reboot. However, there is nothing happening on the DiskStation, and my computer says that there are no hard drives available. I think that perhaps the RAID has gone, or something. I have been waiting for over two weeks for tech support to get back to me.
