She "deleted all the photos from her Sony phone" after copying them to a microSD, but "The files corrupted, can't open them" — and since then he has "cleared my bin on laptop several time". This is three losses layered on top of each other, and untangling where the photos actually survive is the whole task: corrupted copies on the card, deleted originals on the phone, and a laptop bin now emptied — each a different place to look, with different odds.

The same photos may exist in three places, and each is assessed separately. Copying then deleting then emptying created three distinct potential sources — the card, the phone, the laptop — and the images might be recoverable from any or all of them. The job is to work each source and keep the best surviving version of every photo, because a picture unrecoverable in one place may recover cleanly in another.
The card's corruption is the first target, and often a tractable one. Files that copied but now will not open usually have damaged structure rather than lost content — the copy may have been interrupted or the card may have a fault, leaving the image data present behind a broken container or directory. Hex-level analysis establishes what survived, and carving recovers the image data directly. Corrupted-but-present is very different from gone.
The phone's deleted originals are a strong second avenue, with one dependency. Deleting the photos from the phone removed the references but not necessarily the data — deleted images often persist in storage until overwritten. Recovering them depends on the phone's generation and whether its storage is encrypted, since a modern phone encrypts against the passcode. But if the originals survive and access is possible, they may be the cleanest version of all, unaffected by the copy's corruption.
The emptied laptop bin is the most uncertain, precisely because of the repeated emptying. Emptying the recycle bin deletes references and frees the space, but the data lingers until overwritten. The complication is that the bin was emptied several times and the laptop kept in use since — every subsequent write risks landing on those freed images. Recovery sweeps the free space for what survives, but honesty requires acknowledging that continued use lowers the odds here more than on the other two sources.
The universal instruction is to stop writing to all three, now. Whatever survives on the card, the phone, or the laptop remains recoverable only until overwritten — so continued use of any of them is the enemy. Each is imaged and worked on a copy, and none should be written to further. Stopping now preserves whatever is left across all three.
The honest prognosis is a spread, and it is stated per source. The card's corrupted copies are likely partly-to-largely recoverable; the phone's deleted originals depend on generation and encryption; the laptop's emptied-bin images are the least certain given the repeated emptying and continued use. Combined, working all three maximises the chance every photo survives somewhere — reported honestly, source by source.
